With over 30+ years of hands-on experience across NDT, welding engineering, and aerospace quality management, Ravi Kumar Thammana is one of India’s most respected NDT professionals. As CEO and co-founder of Trinity NDT WeldSolutions Pvt. Ltd, he has led the company to achieve NABL ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation and NADCAP Aerospace Merit certification — among the highest quality credentials an independent NDT laboratory can hold anywhere in the world.
He began his career with KCP Limited (Vuyyuru), progressed through GS Alloy Castings (Vijayawada) and Sievert India (now Bureau Veritas), and served as Quality Engineer for Reliance Industries’ Jamnagar Refinery Phase 1 and the Salaya-Mathura cross-country pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation. He later served as Chief Metallurgist & NDT Engineer at Hitech Pneumatics & Heattreaters Pvt. Ltd., Peenya, Bangalore — before founding Trinity NDT in 2001 with just ₹15,000.
Mr. Ravi served as Past Vice President (South), The Indian Institute of Welding (IIW) India, and currently Chief Trainer for NDT certification courses and serving on the Training Management Board (TMB) of ISNT, Chennai. He was Course Director for Pre-Conference Tutorials at NDE2020, NDE2021, and NDE2022. He is working with ASNT, India Section as Committee Member for ICENDE2026. He is Jury for India Skills in Welding under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India.

Shiva Kumar R co-founded Trinity NDT WeldSolutions Pvt. Ltd. in 2001 alongside Ravi Kumar Thammana, bringing deep expertise in quality control inspection, welder qualifications, WPS/PQR development, and welding consulting.
A Mechanical Engineering graduate from M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT), Bangalore — where he was honoured with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 2022 — Shiva has over 26 years of experience supporting clients across India and internationally.
As a senior trainer and principal operations leader at Trinity NDT, Shiva has been instrumental in building the company’s international reputation, client base, and quality systems.
He served as President (2024-25), Peenya Industries Association (PIA), Bangalore — which represents over 13,000+ MSMEs in Karnataka — and as Director, Federation of Karnataka Commerce & Industries (FKCCI), Bangalore.
Currently serving as Council Member and Panel Chairman at Karnataka Small Industries Association (KASSIA), Bangalore.
He is Immediate Past Chairman and Convener of the International Congress on Welding (IC2024), IIW India Bengaluru Branch. He is also a guest faculty for MSME / Foreman Training Institute under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India. Working with various Manufacturing companies in India.

The Founding Story — From ₹15,000 to India's Most Trusted NDT Company
In 2001, two brothers from a modest background in Bangalore decided to start something that seemed nearly impossible. With a ₹15,000 loan — rejected by multiple banks despite three government employees as guarantors — Ravi Kumar Thammana and Shiva Kumar R founded what would eventually become Trinity NDT WeldSolutions Pvt. Ltd.
In those early days, they conducted NDT tests at client premises to save on electricity costs, worked from 6 PM to 2 AM at customer sites to maximise every hour, and meticulously tracked every expense in a petty cash notebook they still possess today — from spark plug replacements to clutch wire repairs on their scooter.
Their philosophy was simple: “Chase the vision, not the money. It will surely follow.”
Two and a half decades later, that vision has yielded a NABL ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory, a NADCAP Aerospace Merit accredited facility, over 16,000 NDT professionals trained from 45 countries, 1,500+ corporate clients, the Economic Times ET Rise Top 10 MSME India 2021 award, and a 24,000 sq.ft. state-of-the-art facility at one of Asia’s largest industrial estates.
The notebook with the early expense records is still in their office — a reminder of where they came from, and why they continue to build.
